This congress on cannabis is a scientific initiative which intends to bring health and education professionals together, including students in the subject area of health and social care, as well as all those people interested in finding an answer to the problems following over consumption of cannabis.

Getting to Catoira (Pontevedra) - Spain

The nearest airports are:

  • Santiago de Compostela (55 km): direct flights from London-Stansted (Ryanair), Frankfurt-Hahn (Ryanair), Milan-Bergamo (Ryanair), Basel (easyJet), Geneva (easyJet)
  • Vigo (64 km): direct flights from Dublin (Ryanair), Italy-Bologna (Ryanair)
  • A Coruña (107 km): direct flights from London-Heathrow (Vueling), Lisbon (TAP)
  • Porto (Portugal, 193 km): flights via Madrid, Barcelona and Dublin.

If you don’t find any direct flight from these airports, the more usual stopovers can be found at Madrid and Barcelona.

Flight routes are normally increased during the months of January and February, as well as the number of airlines operating in these airports.

In order to get to Catoira from the airport, you should take a taxi/bus to the train station (Santiago, Vigo or A Coruña) and then a regional train to Catoira. You can check train times at http://www.renfe.com/. It is recommended that you ask the train supervisor or any passenger which one is the train stop at Catoira.

The route by taxi from Santiago costs 50 €, 80 € from Vigo and 100€ from A Coruña.

Why a congress on cannabis?

According to the last survey by the World Health Organization about adolescent behaviour (Health Behaviour in School-aged Children)- based on a study carried out in 42 countries, mainly European, in 2013 and 2014- Spanish teenagers are among the heaviest cannabis consumers.
